At Momentum Skating Academy, our programs are carefully designed to support skaters at every stage of development. Each option builds skills, confidence, and passion while opening doors to new opportunities on the ice.
Pre-CanSkate
A gentle introduction to skating for young children.
Pre-CanSkate is designed for young skaters who are new to the ice and may not yet be ready for a full CanSkate session. Through games, movement, and fun activities, children develop confidence and the basic skills needed to begin skating independently.

CanSkate
CanSkate is a learn-to-skate program designed for skaters of all ages — including children, adults, and newcomers to Canada — who want to learn the fundamentals of ice skating. It is Canada’s national learn-to-skate program and the foundation for many ice sports.

STARSkate
STARSkate (Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition) is Skate Canada’s primary development stream for figure skating. It bridges the gap between basic skating fundamentals learned in CanSkate and competitive figure skating.
Skaters of all ages can develop specialized skating skills in a supportive environment.

Synchronized Skating
Teamwork, precision, and performance on ice.
Synchronized skating is a team sport where skaters perform together in coordinated formations and patterns. Teams skate to music while executing elements such as circles, lines, wheels, and blocks.
Programs follow the structure developed by Skate Canada and offer opportunities at recreational and competitive levels.

Performance Skating
Creativity, storytelling, and performance on ice.
Performance Skating combines skating skills, choreography, music, and storytelling to create engaging group performances. Skaters work together to bring themes and characters to life while developing strong skating fundamentals.
Inspired by Theatre on Ice, this program encourages creativity and artistic expression.

Adult Skating
Skating is for everyone — it’s never too late to start.
Momentum’s Adult Skating program provides a welcoming and supportive environment for adults who want to learn to skate, return to skating, or continue developing their skills.

Collegiate Skating
Skating opportunities for university and college students.
